Privacy Policy
How Parent Check-In collects, uses, protects, transmits, and deletes information.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Parent Check-In Android application, its supporting backend services, and these public policy pages. “Parent Check-In,” “we,” “our,” and “us” refer to the application’s developer and operator.
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use Parent Check-In, we may process:
- Profile and family information: selected role, display name, optional phone number, relationship information, family-circle membership, and invitation records.
- Device and account identifiers: generated installation, device, user, family-circle, and membership identifiers used to connect family members and recover a parent connection after reinstall.
- Check-in and help data: daily check-in status and time, reminder or “Check Now” activity, help-request type and message, recent status, and related history.
- Device status: battery level, app version, locale, and timestamps needed to show whether a connected device was recently online.
- Notification information: notification permission state, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens, and delivery information needed for family notifications.
- Preferences: reminder and offline-alert settings, quiet hours, and temporary alert pauses.
- Purchase verification information: Google Play product and purchase-token information used by the backend to verify the one-time family lifetime unlock. Google Play processes payment details; Parent Check-In does not receive or store your card number.
- Technical information: network request timestamps, error details, and basic server logs needed to operate and protect the service.
Parent Check-In does not request access to your address book, precise location, microphone, camera, call history, text messages, or advertising identifier.
3. Why we use information
We use the information above to:
- Create and maintain the app identity associated with your installation.
- Connect parents, family members, and organizers through family circles and invitations.
- Send and display daily check-ins, reminders, help requests, device status, and offline alerts.
- Deliver push notifications and maintain notification preferences.
- Verify Google Play purchases and restore an eligible one-time lifetime unlock after reinstall.
- Prevent misuse, troubleshoot failures, maintain service reliability, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Local storage, transmission, and backend processing
Parent Check-In stores app state on your device using Android private app storage. Information needed for account identity, family circles, check-ins, reminders, help requests, device status, purchase verification, and notifications is transmitted over encrypted connections to the Parent Check-In backend so connected family members can receive updates.
Uninstalling the app or clearing Android app storage removes local information but may not remove records stored by the Parent Check-In backend. Use the in-app account or data deletion control, or contact support, to request deletion of associated server records.
5. Service providers and sharing
We use service providers only as needed to operate Parent Check-In. Firebase Cloud Messaging, provided by Google, may process FCM notification tokens and delivery information. Google Play processes payment details and provides purchase information used for verification and restoration. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process network traffic and operational logs on our behalf.
Check-in, status, and help information is shared with the family members you intentionally connect in a family circle. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect people and the service, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate notice. We do not sell personal information, share it with data brokers, or use it for targeted advertising.
6. Retention
We retain information only while it is needed to provide Parent Check-In, maintain security, verify purchases, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Retention may vary by data type. When you use the in-app account or data deletion action, Parent Check-In is designed to remove the requesting user’s account and associated server records, subject to limited retention required by law, security, fraud prevention, or backup recovery cycles.
7. Your choices and deletion
- You can leave or manage a family circle and remove a family connection from the app.
- Delete account/data requests deletion of your account, family-circle records, check-ins, help requests, notification tokens, and local app data.
- You may deny notification permission in Android settings.
- You may contact us through the Support page if you cannot access the app.
To protect users, we may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify that a deletion or access request relates to you. Do not post phone numbers, purchase tokens, or other sensitive information in a public support forum.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Production data is intended to be transmitted over encrypted connections, access is intended to be limited to authorized systems, and destructive actions are intended to be verified by the server. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
9. Children
Parent Check-In is a family communication tool and is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum digital-consent age in the user’s country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. No automatic emergency contact
Parent Check-In does not contact emergency services automatically. It is not a medical monitoring service, a guaranteed safety service, or a substitute for contacting emergency services when needed.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Parent Check-In changes. We will revise the effective date and provide additional notice when required. For questions, privacy requests, or deletion help, visit the Parent Check-In Support page or email the developer at cliu@tradewind.aero.
