Privacy Policy
BLE Signal Analyzer is a lightweight Android utility for scanning Bluetooth Low Energy devices and analyzing relative signal strength. The app is designed to work locally on the user's Android device.
BLE Signal Analyzer does not require an account or login. It has no backend server, cloud service, advertising service, analytics service, or network communication.
Bluetooth Permissions
On Android 12 and later, BLE Signal Analyzer uses Android's Nearby Devices Bluetooth permissions to scan nearby BLE advertisements and to access Bluetooth information required by the app, such as adapter state and Android-provided device names or addresses.
These permissions are used only for BLE scanning and signal analysis. BLE Signal Analyzer does not use Bluetooth permissions to track people or determine an exact physical location.
Older Android Location Permission
On Android 11 and earlier, Android may require location permission before an app can scan for Bluetooth Low Energy devices. BLE Signal Analyzer requests this permission only because of that Android platform requirement.
BLE Signal Analyzer does not collect, store, upload, sell, or share location information.
Data Processing
Bluetooth scanning occurs locally on the device. BLE device information may include:
- Device name
- Android-provided device address
- RSSI signal strength
- Manufacturer data
- Service UUIDs
- Tx Power
- Connectable status
- Last-seen time
This BLE information is processed temporarily in memory while the app is running. BLE scan results and device addresses are not uploaded. No BLE scan history or RSSI history is permanently stored.
CSV Session Export
Users can explicitly export current-session Signal Tracker, device comparison, or BLE environment data as a CSV file. Export files are created locally in the app's private cache. BLE Signal Analyzer does not upload exported files and maintains no export history or database.
A file leaves the app only when the user chooses a destination through Android's share functionality. The selected destination may retain or transmit its copy according to that destination's own behavior. Temporary export files in the app cache are eligible for cleanup after 24 hours when a later export is created.
Local Settings Storage
User preferences such as theme, scan duration, minimum RSSI, signal display preferences, keep-screen-awake preference, and proximity alert threshold are stored locally using Android DataStore.
A local SharedPreferences flag may record whether Bluetooth permission has previously been requested. This flag helps prevent repeated automatic permission prompts and does not contain BLE scan results.
Data Sharing
BLE Signal Analyzer does not sell user data or automatically share BLE scan results, device addresses, local settings, or location information with the developer, advertisers, analytics providers, or other third parties. A CSV export is shared only with the destination explicitly selected by the user through Android's share functionality.
Internet and Network Access
BLE Signal Analyzer does not request Android Internet permission and does not perform network communication. The app has no backend, remote API, cloud sync, advertising SDK, or analytics SDK.
Data Retention
No BLE scan or export history is maintained. BLE device results and RSSI samples exist only temporarily in memory and are discarded when the app process ends. User-generated CSV files are temporary cache files rather than an in-app archive.
Local user preferences and the Bluetooth permission-requested flag remain on the device until the user changes them, clears the app's data, or uninstalls the app. Application backup is disabled.
Children's Privacy
BLE Signal Analyzer is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app has no account system, login, advertising, analytics, or network upload. If a parent or guardian has a privacy question, they may contact the developer using the address below.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if the app's behavior, legal requirements, or store requirements change. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a revised last-updated date.
